I am so sorry it's taken me so long to write a blog. I've been in Durban for a week and a half now and I finally made it to an internet cafe. It's a good 20-25 minute walk (each way) into town so I'm going to try to make it into town twice a week, depending on how busy I'll be with the DTS.
Durban is great. I really like it here. This base feels like a family. Right now I'm going through a lot of staff training and praying for the students. Our first student will arrive on Monday and the school starts on September 17th. We're expecting 5-10 students. The DTS staff consists of me, the school leader and another girl. I have a lot of responsibility on me right now, but it feels so good. I know God's going to do incredible things in the DTS. I can't wait to finally meet the students and really get things started.
Durban is HOT. Spring just started and it's in the 80's. The city is huge. It's a big change from Jbay, but it's nice. Sometimes it can be hard to start all over and go to a new place and make new friends, but things are going perfectly. I've gotten to know a lot of the staff and students and I feel comfortable already.
Anyway, I've got to get a few things from town and walk back to the base. Please keep me and this upcoming DTS in your prayers. Also if you're interested in financially supporting me, please let me know. I can't do this without all of you guys. I can't wait to see what God's going to do here. I love and miss you all!
